Get started

A brief guide to running your first session.

Install the Add-On

Install from within Anki:

  1. Open Tools → Add-ons → Get Add-ons…
  2. Paste the code 600135790 and click OK.
  3. Restart Anki.

Launch the Add-On

From Anki's main window, there are a few options:

  1. Click the "Launch Pindu" button that's added to the bottom row.
  2. Find the new "Pindu" entry in the Tools menu.
  3. Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+S (Windows/Linux) or Cmd+Shift+S (Mac).

Map your Anki Collection

If you want to use an existing deck of cards, Pindu needs to know which note fields are which.

  1. Launch Pindu, open the "Configure" dialog from the sidebar, and go to the "Anki Note Type Mapping" tab.
  2. Select your note type from the "Unconfigured" list, and then use the menus to map your note's fields to Pindu's fields. Only the "Hanzi" mapping is required, but mapping others will enable further integration.
  3. Click "Add/Update Pindu Configuration". The note type will move to the "Configured" list on the right, and then save and exit the configuration dialog.

Set up API services

The basic Add-On itself is free, but the various services it integrates for advanced functionality are not. They cost whatever the service providers charge you directly via your API accounts with them. There are two types of APIs that Pindu integrates with:
