Language-learning technology, grounded in research.
We are a small group of researchers, engineers, and testers creating new tools and methods to help people learn languages. Our work piggybacks on the astonishing progress we see today in natural language processing and machine learning. We are excited to build applications that direct this technology to meet individuals' personal learning styles, informed by applied linguistics research and pedagogical principles.
Our first product is Pindu, a free Chinese reading tool built on top of Anki and used by hundreds of learners. It's based on Krashen's Input Hypothesis: people learn best when their practice is calibrated exquistely to what they already know. Try it at readpindu.com.
We're working on bringing the same personalization-centric approach to the needs of schools and reading platforms. If that overlaps with your work, please email contact@pindulabs.com.
